Hat Customizations

After several years in business, we've been able to determine what most customers want when it comes to fabric colors, fabric prints, and sizes for our hat styles. Why offer sailor hats in green cotton, for example, when we've never had a single order for one in green? For this reason, we limit the fabric and size offerings of our styles.

However, we also know that sometimes customers have specific hat requirements, for example:

A smaller size (maybe for a newborn or preemie)
A bigger size (maybe even adult-sized)
A hat to match a particular outfit
A hat with two colors (like the hats at top right)
Tie strap or chinstrap customizations
A fabric request
Or maybe even a green sailor hat!

We can embroider a name or short phrase on some of our hat styles. We charge $10.00 for an embroidered name or phrase. For the custom sailor hat with the trim around the brim edge, we charge $2.00 for the trim.

If you are interested in ordering a sailor hat with an embroidered name, the easiest way to do so would be to order the sailor hat online in the size and fabric needed, and then when you get to the Comments part of your order in the shopping cart, type that you want an embroidered name or phrase added, provide the exact name or phrase, and what color of thread you want us to use. Also let us know if you want trim around the brim. (The only font we offer currently is a Zapf font as shown on the embroidered hat examples.) Then we'd sew the hat using the Comments provided and add the additional cost to your order upon shipment. If you want any other hat style embroidered with a name or phrase, please e-mail us first to make sure we could do so on that particular style.

We get numerous requests for cowboy hats, top hats, fedoras, and ivy caps (among others), but, unfortunately, we do not offer these styles and are unable to provide customizations for them. Obviously, a custom hat requires extra attention from us, so we do charge extra to sew a special hat, and it usually takes longer for us to sew and ship a custom hat. It may be up to 48 hours before we respond, but we will reply as soon as we can.
